Simran Mohan
UC Davis '28, Genetics and Genomics
Simran is a passionate first-generation college student, aims to pursue medical school and specialize in family medicine, inspired by her parents and underserved community. Having immigrated from India, she witnessed limited access to healthcare and hopes to normalize preventive care. Simran has gained leadership skills through roles in Girls Inc., Link Crew, and Student Voice Council, promoting education, diversity, and wellness. Volunteering at Salinas Valley Health deepened her commitment to medicine, while programs like Upward Bound provided academic support. Her goal is to become a family medicine physician to improve healthcare access in underserved communities and honor her parents' sacrifices by achieving her educational dreams.
Asanti Mohammed
University of Nebraska, Lincoln '28, Pre-Medicine
Asanti Mohammed will be attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln in the Fall of 2024 on the pre-medicine track. Asanti has overcome multiple adversities in her life, including immigrating to the United States at a young age. She is grateful to have fulfilled one of her top American dreams by having the opportunity to further her education by attending college. Her passion for education and medicine stems from wanting to be able to treat and cure preventable illnesses. Her Goal: to learn more and specialize in Audiology as a physician to make a positive impact in the lives of people.
