Volunteer Spotlight - Sophia Lee

Updated: Sep 24, 2023

Meet Sophia Lee! Sophia has been an incredible value to our biweekly vaccine clinics and free health clinics since 2021. Her warm presence and genuine enthusiasm brings joy to everyone around her. She continuously reaches out to lend a hand in anyway she can - and even further with aspirations of becoming a physician associate (PA) to better care for underserved populations!

Q: When did you get involved with this organization?

A: I was lucky to come across the foundation from a google search in July of 2021 and signed up to participate in the free clinic in August of 2021.

Q: Why do you choose to volunteer?

A: I choose to volunteer because it gives me a sense of fulfillment, and witnessing the positive outcome of it has been a blessing.

Q: What attracted you to Wealth by Health’s cause?

A: My initial attraction to the foundation was how the mission and vision aligned with my mindset. Their mission to improve the health and well-being of the underserved population is what I aspire to do in the future as a physician associate (PA). However, it was ultimately the people there that keeps me coming back. From the patients, we saw and cared for to the other volunteers and the foundation's core members. It is truly a great pleasure meeting these genuine and kindhearted individuals.

Q: What has been your favorite event and why?

A: There isn't a favorite event because I enjoyed all the events I participated in. However, there are a few events I hope I get to partake in this year.

Q: What makes this volunteer experience a meaningful use of their time? / What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Wealth by Health?

A: The sense of fulfillment I get after an event is one of the reasons I choose to volunteer during my spare time. Being able to help serve my community by providing them access to care they would not have otherwise received is the little joy of my life.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you are not volunteering?

A: Some things I enjoy doing are traveling, eating, and just trying new things.

Q: What is your favorite quote or life motto?

A: My life motto right now is to find ways out of my comfort zone and to focus on excitement rather than fear. My favorite quote is from Confucius "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but rising every time we fall."
