The Wealth By Health Steps For Change Foundation hosts a free medical clinic three times each year to provide free medical services to individuals who lack access to affordable healthcare. As we are committed to the belief that access to affordable healthcare is a basic human necessity, our aim is to bridge the gap in health care coverage by providing primary health care to fit the medical needs of the uninsured. Through the specialized skills and generosity of our medical professional volunteers, we hope to assist the socioeconomically and geographically underserved populations who have fallen through the cracks of the healthcare system. At the same time, we hope to encourage patients to get involved with their own health and to take preventative measures.
The Free Medical Clinic Program would not exist without the commitment of our wholehearted volunteers to serving the uninsured population. As there has been a growing number of people relying on free medical clinics for healthcare, the need for more medical professionals and volunteers is growing as well. We would love for you to join our team of medical professionals and volunteers to serve the individuals who would find the most value in these free medical services.
Physicians (MD), Nurses (RN, NP, etc.), General Dentists (DDS, DMD), Dental Hygienists (RDH, RDA), Acupuncturists (LAC)
The specialized skill and medical expertise of all Licensed Health Professionals are always needed to serve patients during our free medical clinic events, typically held in March, May, and October. All Medical & Dental Professionals must have a valid license and certification to be practicing in their field. Please provide your license number and specify any relevant certifications in the volunteer application.
Medical & Dental Assistants
Medical and dental assistants are assigned to positions based on their certifications and prior experience. They will work to assist a licensed professional with any tasks and perform duties as instructed by the health care provider. Duties for medical assistants include, but are not limited to, taking vital signs (body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate), diabetes screening, and weights (BMI).
You don't need to be a healthcare professional or in the medical field to help us with our Free Medical Clinic! We always need volunteers to make sure the clinic runs smoothly. This includes greeting and checking in patients, assisting patients with registration, escorting patients to their designated locations, filing patient documents in an organized manner, and answering any questions patients may have. All volunteers must attend a mandatory training meeting prior to participating on event day.
All volunteers must understand, acknowledge, and accept the laws and regulations from the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
